Oh, Yeah!
Today, we were eating at Calendars, and Max was coloring his menu... When the waitress stepped up to the table and began to talk to Max, he bashfully wrapped his head in the menu like it was a baby bonnett. The waitress watched him for a moment, then said... "You are absolutely the CUTEST kid I have EVER seen!"
Without missing a beat, Max exclaimed, "Oh YEAH!"
Bashful, I suppose, he wasn't!
Which flows quite well to another embarrassing short story that took place in the same Calendars location a year or so before...
I met Robin and Max at Calendars one afternoon for lunch, and we were seated at one of those really tall tables with barstools. Max was placed in a booster seat much higher than he was ever used to sitting. When a fairly well endowed waitress walked up to our table to take our order... Max paused coloring, turned around, and placed his hand firmly on her breast...
The waitress just laughed , and was noticeably less embarrassed than Robin and I were. Robin corrected Max, and then apologized to the waitress, who explained that she spends a lot of time around little children and it takes a lot more than that to embarrass her...
Which leads in well to a third local restraunt tale of embarrassment...
I was at Walk-On's quite awhile ago with Max and a couple of my friends, when he was under a year old... It was mid-afternoon, and there were very few people in the place. Similarly to the previous story, we had a fairly well endowed waitress... Max stared at her as she took our food and drink orders, and his eyes followed her as she returned to the kitchen area...
Over the course of the meal, she ended up hanging out at a nearby table with a few of her friends. Max couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her...
At some point, she was walking over to bring our drink refills to us, when she noticed Max staring at her. She paused, and said "oh, I bet you want these, don't you?", innocently referring to the drinks she was carrying. Max extended his arms in her direction indicating a desire, but it wasn't for the drinks... I don't think she realized what was going on... thank goodness! :)
